Drawn & Quarterly's series is shaping up to be a magnificent set of superbly produced books. The bizarre, endearing & curiously optimistic tales of the Moomins continuein this third book.

Once again the quality is superb, & the clarity of Jansson's sublimely skillful line drawings is crisp & bright. A pity the cover crops Moomintroll's nose, but that's quibbling.

No point to spoiling the plots - fans of the full length novels need have no fears; the same quiet humour & unexpected pathos can be found here. And if you're not a fan...what's wrong with you? Get the set & experience the work of a still underrated genius, whose workin this particular field (Jansson was also a painter & author of much acclaim) stands alongside Herge & Schulz & all the greats.
