Inspiring, motivating, moving! - By: Michael W. Rix, 28 Oct 2006
Don't buy this book if you are looking for training plans, schedules etc etc
Do buy if you want to be inspired & moved by some truly remarkable tales of competingin the ultimate endurance event!
Since buying this book I've competedin 2 such events myself. The book was the catalyst to make me get off the sofa, lose some weight & do some worthwhile training. There are around 50 accounts of people finishingin great times, barely finishing, suprising themselves & some failing to finish. Their stories will get you hooked & can be revisited time & time again.

What a fantastic read, for anyone contemplating any endurance event not just an Ironman this will encourage you to fillin that entry form. There is not one story which says do not do it even the ones who did not finish,so for that read on the plane as you travel to your next event,or maybe this is the book to encourage your loved one to go long with you next time,go on buy it it will take minutes off your personal best time.
An athletes inspiration, or an armchair ironmans dream - By: , 11 Apr 2002
This book is a collection of stories by a variety of people who have competedin ironmans ranging from athletes, run of the mill people to the disabled.
The book is very readable & gives you lots of different insights into this amazing sport. The information is not technical but gives personal accounts of the complete build up to races through to the actual event. I particularly enjoyed reading the stories of the original iron man races when modern technology really hadn't arrived with the triatholon sport.
This book is a great read as you can either read it from cover to cover or just dipin occasionally to read another story. It either inspires you to have the guts to competein an ironman or leaves you happy to be an armchair athlete.
