Lacks O'Barr power... - By: , 01 Jun 2001
Like the movie 'The Crow: City Of Angels' bein' nowhere as good as the original movie, the story is the same with 'Dead Time', the first comic series since J.O'Barr's superior original comic series tellin' the story of Eric Draven. In this second comic series of The Crow, this story tells the story of a man named Joshua who is brought back to life a century after his death to avenge his killersin the present who are now reincarnated. Some may find this plot to be quite far fetched & quite silly really. But at least it's 'different'. And the story is by J.O'Barr, but unfortunatly the art isn't & the artist Alexander Maleev's work lacks the distinctive look of Barr's workin the original. But Maleev's work is very good indeed & it's great to look at, but it can leave one disapointed compared to the original.
Bottom line, this crow story really does lack the power of the original.
But crow fans will learn to like it.
Not bad. - By: , 29 Apr 2001
This book was never going to be able to match J O'Barrs "The Crow". However if I had read "Dead Time" first I think I would have been more impressed by it. The plot definately lacks that edge to make you want to read it again & again. But the art work is impressive & helps to make up for this. If you are a fan of "The Crow" I'm sure you will enjoy this. If you are not familiar with the film or other graphic novels this may not get you hooked but it is definately worth a second look.
