Great artistry, predicatable story, glad the JLA seven are back together - By: Larry Ketchersid, 10 Dec 2006
This book was originally JLA #1-#4.
It's great to have Superman, Batman, WonderWoman, Flash, Green Latern, Aquaman & the Martian Manhunter reunited again. With this much power, you have to have large enemies. Unfortunately the story of an alien race coming to invade is tired & predictable.
Batman has a great partin this story, as he usually is overshadowed by the others. And the balance of Flash & the young Green Latern's goofiness vs. the seriousness of the others always makes this team work great.
My son's favorate pane: page 82, of course with Flash & GL ("low quality finish, Lantern." "Yeah? Kiss my ring, buddy". My is on 83, an excellent drawing of WonderWoman battling Primaid.
Fantastic artistry, all of the JLA members are drawn superbly. Hoping the story gets better with the next one.
The book that got me hooked! - By: A. Stasiak, 11 Jul 2001
Every now & again a book or graphic novel comes along that gets you hooked & you have to own everything else that follows. This is one of those few books.Being familiar with Superman,Batman & Wonderwoman I thought this book was worth a look.Possibly one of the best purchases I ever made. The JLA is made up of several of DC's major characters working together as a team against threats that are just to big for one hero to handle. This book isin effect a rebirth of the JLA (as I later learned)..all the old charcters have either been replaced or update for the end of the centuary. The plot is basicly one long power struggle between the JLA & the newcomers the Hyperclan with some suprising twists & turns. The story line is great & was a fantastic warm up for all the following current JLA compilations. The art work speaks for itself reflecting each character perfectly. If you havent read JLa this is a perfect place to start.
