A passport to great value eating in Paris - By: roger.wong@virgin.net, 11 Nov 2000
I have taken this guide with me on every trip to Paris over the past two years & have consistently chosen to dinein Sandra Gustafson's recommended restaurants, bistrots & brasseries. I have yet to be disappointed. Her recomendations indeed have charm, offer superb food & charge relatively little. This book certainly separates the authentic neighbourhood restaurant from the overpriced tourist trap. The book lists her recommendations by arrondissement which helps to plan the evening's dining without the need to wander far from your accommodation. It also gives essential information on opening times of each restaurant which is useful, particularly on Sundays & during the month of August, times when many Parisian restaurants are shut. This has avoided disappointment on many occasions. So my advice for an enjoyable sojourn to Paris is take a good travel guide, carry a decent street map & definitely Sandra Gustafson's "Cheap Eatsin Paris" By the way, I also carry a copy of her book "Cheap Eatsin Italy" whenever I travel to Florence & Rome.
