One of the best civil war crossover so far. - By: Rodney Herring, 10 Nov 2007
I gotta say, that this wolverine story was a good read. although it wasnt as good as enemy of the state/ agent of shield, which i reckon they will never make a wolverine story like that again. but it was way better than orgins & endings. the artwork was great. humbert ramos draws wolverine so well. yes - it may be too cartoony, but its awesome.
great wolverine story.
Not bad but not good enough to buy - By: The Zodiac, 19 Sep 2007
As you've gathered this GN follows Wolverines partin the Civil War saga. I agree with the review above, the art is too light & colourful for is without doubt one of the darker Civil war stories. That said i though the story was quite good, the one thing i always wondered when i read the main civil war graphic novel (which is a must have Trade or HC) was well whos going to go after nitro then? And befitting of Wolverines arrogance & lethal brand of justice, he's the one to go off & give Nitro whats coming to him for the Stamford disaster.
Allin all not a bad story, but i can only really recommend this to die hard Wolverine fans or someone like me who didn't buy it, but rented it from the library & read it. There are much better civil war tie ins out there (Iron man- excellent, new avengers- great, Captain America- great) which is why this gets 3 out of 5.
Pretty and pointless and silly - By: genejoke, 17 Jun 2007
Humberto Ramos is a pretty good artist, BUT his work is too cartoony for wolverine whose storues are often gritty & hard edged. so apart from the style the art is good.
Shame about the writing. The basic idea is sound, the mer folk want revenge for the death of their princess (namorita who was killedin civil war) Wolverine gets caught upin it & goes to solve the situation. Problem is the story comes off as cheesy with a couple of really bad ideas. wolverinein ironman armour. sigh.
