Evil never sleeps... - By: Ms. C. A. L. Turner, 22 Sep 2003
Just because Buffy & co. are on vacation it doesn't mean that the monsters are. This collection of short stories fills the gap between the first & second school year.
All the stories follow the Buffy format incredibly well & are well-written & very interesting.
If you like Buffy, then is book is a must-have
An interesting look into Buffy's feelings after season one. - By: , 26 Nov 2001
A collection of short stories that takes placein between seasons 1 & 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I found this book intruiging with many insights into the characters, but my favourite stories were hte ones invlving Buffyin LA. The book examines her relationship with death (soon to be re-examinedin later seasons of the programme) & also with her father. We get a lot of insight into Buffy's mind & feelings I believe that this is something that we do not obtain from the programme.
I don't want to waffle too much, so I'll sum it up for you. A good read.
Patchy - By: Mr. Stephen Booth, 02 Mar 2001
This book is a bit patchyin that it is divided up into a series of short stories linked together. Some of those stories are excellent, others are really poor. I'd reccomend buy it but be prepared for a couple of really poor stories interleaved with some really good ones.
A Must For All Buffy Fans - By: , 12 Nov 2000
This collection of stories is a must for all BTVS fans. It`s a what happened after Buffy killed the Master at the end of season One , to how she became the new Cordelia at the beginning of Season 2. Some very intreasting stories featuring all the Scooby Gang. It made a change to have willow & Xander cope without The Slayer.
A well written set of stories which keep to the true Buffy style that we all know & Love.
I rate this book as one of the best , right up there with The Gatekeeper trilogy.
Fills in the gaps between season 1 and 2 a treat! - By: , 07 Sep 2000
At first i wasn't sure whether this book would be any good: six short stories chronicling the adventures of Buffy & the gang throughout their summer vacation following the events of the season one finale.
I was wrong!
The book follows Buffys Adventuresin L.A whilst she is living with her dad & does it well. The authors had a lot to take into considereation with continuity, but suceeded, & managed to produce interesting, gripping tales which i found hard to put down!
Meanwhile,in Sunnydale, the rest of the stories concentrate on GIles, Jenny & Angel who are trying to keep all their adventures a secret from Xander & Willow so they can have a quiet summer. They have to face a shapeshifter, an army of zombies, a pack of touring vamps & bury the masters bones!
These stories are about 40 pages each & use imaginitive original ideas. The authors range from the familiar to the new, but all of them impressed me!
I would definately buy this book if you are a fan of the series & you've always wanted to know what happened throughout their summer. I really look forward to volume 2!
