Nigella has once again proved that she wasn't an overnight sensation that would fizzle at the hurdle of catering for the masses. Nigella, like many of us is one hell of a busy lady & what busy people don't have is much time to prepare meals.
I have been a fan of Nigella for a very long time now & this book was purchased to add to my collection of over 40 cookery boooks. And of course this book did not disappointin the slightest.
I can recommend the Naan pizzas for parents or students on the go. And if you have a load of childrenin your house at the weekend (this would be ideal for teenage sleepovers) the Frittata party! The totally chocolate chip cookies are simply too yummy to explain & the hokey pokey is yum. It's not just practical for putting on chocolate puddings/mousses it also looks very nice decorating chocolate cakes & even chocolate triffles. And yes it does make a nice present.
Every recipe looks supreme & I cannot wait to work my way through the book.
Anyone who needs an extra pair of handsin the kitchen should purchase this.
Great Book! - By: Trace, 28 Jul 2008
I love Nigellas recipes, so I had to get this book! I've tried a few of the recipes on some of my friends & they really enjoyed them! Not the healthiest of recipes, but some of the best tasting ones! I would recommend this to anyone! Enjoy
Expressly Delicious!! - By: Mrs. C. Smith, 25 Jul 2008
This is another triumph for Nigella Lawson. If you watched the TV show to accompany the book you will not be disappointed.
Recipes are delicious, easy & as the title would suggest - very quick!!
I have made loads of dishes from the book & they have all turned out fantastically.
I would just like to point out that I live outside of London & contrary to another reviewer's beef about problems getting ingredients from 'posh deli's' I have been able to get most of the things I have needed from a small local Sainsburys.

I absolutely love this book, I watched the show & was so lulled by Nigella's coquettish cooing that I found myself wanting to make everything she did. I got the book as a gift from friends after encouraging them to watch the show, & invited them over for a Nigella Night where I made the Coq au Reisling & the Chocolate Pistachio Fudge (which although a bit rich is absolutely divine & can be varied with flavoured chocolated & some unsalted cashews as well). I have to say I much prefer watching the show as her adjective style (beat this until it forms stiff white creamy peaks) is almost as fun to watch as the cooking. But the book is fantastic & the illustrations are great - although I am a little dubious about her claim to have taken pictures of them herself with a digital camerain the foreword!
A must for people that want to cook quickly, easily, cheaply & don't have too much concern on special occassions about calories!

A fantastic book ! i got this for a Christmas Present from my Husband & i love it ! i really enjoyed the BBC2 Series Nigella Express so this is great to have as ther are lots of great recipes that she didnt feature on that.
im not the best cook, but i do like to dabble & this book is perfect for that, easy to make recipes (including some scrummy Cocktails!) mostly with minimum ingredients required, which come out as fabulous dishes !
The Marguerita Ice cream was so easy to make & earned me so much credit that i felt guilty !
And it is so great to see a cook like Nigella, a real cook who loves cooking & eating food & is not afraid to say it ! She is truely fabulous !
