The Last Hero is one of my favourites - By: discmythnut, 25 Sep 2008
Because, of course, the title says that Cohen is the "last" hero, & that is just one type. The other type are the three mismatched men sent by the wizards & patrician of a huge city state. I loved the illustrations (OMG PAUL KIDBY IS MY IDOL) & the story & together it is a masterpiece.
The Silver Horde's Last Adventure - By: Mr. C. McMartin, 05 Mar 2008
The Last Hero is the seventh novelin the Rincewind story arc, following Cohen the Barbarian & his Silver Horde on their adventure to return fire to the gods. With interest. Since this would resultin the end of all life on the Discworld, Rincewind, Captain Carrot & Leonerd of Quirm are sent to stop them, via a ship capable of diving over the rim & slingshotting around to the other side.

The novel itself is beautifully illustrated on every page, with detailed character & scene depictions, as well as diagrams & documents drawn up by Leonard of Quirm (all done with standard Pratchett style humour)
Cohan the Barbarian ... my hero - By: Susan Belcher, 17 Feb 2008
I have the hard back version of this & I love it. It is a large book of the illustrated discworld series.

I feel for Cohan & the 'boys' early on (their best appearance isin Interesting Times). This gives the story of the background to the silver hoard, it's well worth a look for any Pratchett fan.
A tale of adventure and advancing age - By: T. R. Alexander, 02 Dec 2007
The Last Hero is the story of Cohen the Barbarian, a hero, slayer of monsters, defiler of temples & emperor of the Agatean Empire is going on one last adventure, an adventure that could end the world. Cohen & his friends, the Silver Hoard, plan to return fire to travel to Dunmanifestin, the home of the gods, to return fire to the gods, with interest.

Although this story does have many bad points, such as a poor beginning & something of an attempt to shoehornin as many characters as possible, it still end up being greatly entertaining & quite touchingin places. The main strength of this book though is the simply stunning illustrations by the excellent Paul Kidby who captures the essence of the characters, & the Discworld as a whole, perfectly. Although this book is probably intended for a slightly younger audience than the regular Discworld series, this shouldn't stop older fans of the series from thoroughly enjoying it.
Amazing value for a brilliant book - By: Mr. P. A. Butterworth, 20 Jul 2006
For a text paperback price, you get a huge beautifully-presented feast for the eyes - the usual Pratchett story high quality plus loads of illustrations everywhere that were obviously a labour of love & inspired by the illustrator's own inventive humour.
