This is one of the very best thrillers I have ever read. The action is non-stop & the tension is relentless. It's an absolute masterclass of plotting & characterisation - even after all these years I can remember particular scenes because they have been rendered so utterly convincingly. This book starts with a bang & keeps on delivering right up to the nerve-shredding ending. There are no slow parts, no bits that you will skim, you will be glued to every single word. Believe the hype - this is one action-packed thriller that you won't want to put down & will read again & again.
one of the best ever - By: P. SACRE, 24 Jul 2007 It is funny but this book & another one with a similar title (Allan Folsom's "Day after tomorrow") remain for me among the 5 best thrillers I have ever read (and I think I have read hundreds of not thousands between Ludlum, Forsyth, Follett, Connelly etc ...). Even many years after reading it, I still remember this story of a bunch of terrorists attacking a nuclear missile silo. Vividly told, great characters, action, twists & turns (this black guy who can't read is a find !). Really this book is perfect.
