I have been using this book for a few months now & the girlsin my class, they really love it. Every week we do a different activity from the teaching ideasin the book, & now especially I feel enough confident to teach with the Internet & to make my classes more stimulating & global.
If you wanna go online & use the Internetin your teaching then you should think definitely about buying this book.
Internet and Language Teaching for Dummies - By: , 14 Mar 2001 I agree with the other reviewers here. The school I work at has recently investedin four new computers connected to the Internet. Nobody really knew what to do with them until I was given the job of training everbody. This book provided all the knowledge I needed to get started & explain to everyone else the enormous potential of the Internetin the language classroom.
Since we had our training sessions using this book it's been almost impossible to book timein the computer lab - it's always full of teachers with their classes doing Internet lessons & projects which are clearly laid out & well-plannedin this book.
Now I don't know how we ever taught without the Internet. If you want to enrich your language teaching classes then this book is perfect for you.
Internet for the clueless - By: , 08 Mar 2001 I bought this book as I've always been interestedin the idea of using the internetin classroom, but have always seen it as a scary beast that I wasn't brave enough to try & tame.
The book outlined all the things neededin a clear & concise fashion, even an internet novice such as myself was able to follow. On top of that there are lots of practical internet lessons & ideas that are easy to implement & were enjoyed by my students.
I would readily recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of using the internet with their students, wether they're used to using it or a complete novice
Fantastic Resource! - By: , 05 Mar 2001 I've had this book for a few months now, & I'm still finding new thingsin it. Apart from the practical advice on using the Web & email, there are loads of classroom activities - most of which I've used with a good deal of success. I've even worked up the nerve to try my first email penpal exchange & my students are loving it. If you want quick, easy, practical hlep & teaching ideas, then this is definitely the book for you.
Excellent resource for all language teachers - By: , 19 Feb 2001 This book is one of three (I think) released by major ELT publishers last yearin what proved to be the year when the publishing companies finally stood up & took notice. I own & have read all three publications & this is by far the best of the bunch. Easy to read, full of practical ideas & written by somebody who obviously knows the field backwards. If you're a language teacher & interestedin using the Internetin your teaching, then this is definitely the book for you
