A unique book - By: Mr. A. W. Fisher, 13 Aug 2007
When, a couple of years ago, read that Tom Read had killed himself it was terrible news. Since then, this book has been out of print which is a real shame as it is one of the best books I have ever read. Tom's descriptins of the building pressuresin his life & the thought patternsin the midst of his breakdown is fascinating & awful at the same time. He was a remarkable man with remarkable dreams. & the world is a poorer place without him.
Not your typical SAS book - By: , 07 Feb 2006
I read this book on a sailing trip, possibly the best place to do it as I did not have to put it down too often. This is the sort of book that really affects you. After reading it all I wanted to do was jump out of a perfectly good aircraft & contact Tom. I wanted to tell him how the book had affected me, how thought provoking it was & to wish him all the best for the future.
The only advice that I can give is to read it (you will never get the true measure of it by reading the reviews), to think about it, & really to do something that scares you as often as you can.
The most exciting book I have ever read - By: Jenny Jones, 20 Jul 2005
The story that this man has to tell is one not to be missed, every word is more exciting than the next & what makes it even more amazing, is that its all completely true, Ive never experienced an adrenaline rush from a book before!. Found it so difficult to put this book down. A must read.
Freefall - By: , 30 Sep 2004
As some other reveiwers have said this is a stand alone book amongst the best i have ever read
Provided a roller coaster ride for the emotions laughter excitement sadness anger amazement
written by a bloke who has achieved an incredible amount & yet to all intents & purposes comes across as just an ordinary guy on the worst of all journeysin to his own illness
It is impossible to pigeon hole the book it is high adventure, forces bravado, mental illness, laughter, high emotion
FreeFall - The best book I ever Read - By: Robert, 08 Jun 2004
FreeFall was by far the best book I ever read (Really no pun intended)- I found it on the bookshelfin a local book store - on the wrong shelf - I just picked it up & flicked through.
It is such a brilliant story that it doesn't need any highfalutin language to describe it.
I felt so sorry to finish the book at the end.
