Songbird or bad Karaoke - By: Carol Jones, 13 Nov 2008
Having enjoyed several of Josephine Cox's novelsin the past, I was looking forward to a good read with Songbird. I was sadly disappointed though as I found that there seemed to be some sort of contest to see how many cliches could be fitted into each & every sentence. I found this very annoying, so much so that I was unable to finish the book, something I have not done since I was a child.
Fantastic novel - By: Andy Capp, 19 Oct 2008
Fantastic novel by Josephine Cox. I could not put it down, the plot was very good & I liked the opening where the students werein their house & they heard the most beautiful voice coming from next door. From then on I liked the different settings for the book - Bedford, then Blackpool & back to Bedford again.
Jo Cox is very good at descriptions such as the high speed chase on the roads with Maddyin the car. There were surprising twists & turns & I really liked the book.
Congratulations to the publishers for a very fine book cover.
Allin all a very good book & well done Jo.
