the Warrior's Princess - By: samj, 17 Aug 2008
Fantastic book, especially as it was setin the village where my great grandmother used to live & is buriedin the churchyard of St Eigons Church. Once again, Barbara Erskine has written a wonderfully, descriptive story, enabling the reader to imagine themselvesin Rome & Wales. I love her present day characters & how thier lives entwine with those of the past. Please hurry up & write the next book.I have to say my favourite book is Lady of Hay.

I am an avid fan of Barbara Erskine, have all her books & have been waiting for her latest - The Warriors Princess - what a disappointment. I found it extremely difficult to get to the end - I wanted to give up but stayed with it to see if there was any improvement. I asked myself several times "has Barbara Erskine really written this book?" I can't believe it. I usually cannot put down her books, but this is the biggest disappointment ever. Hope the next one is better.

Another masterpiece, the books just get better & better. Once again the author has woven the past with the future, great story, great characters
it has it all. Mystery, violence, murder & that certain chill factor that only Barbara Erskine can create. An absolute page turner, I could not put it down & already on a second reading ! A great read by a great author that left me wanting more.
Really sorry to be negative - By: Mrs. S. J. Hart, 25 Jul 2008
For the first time ever, I have been unable to finish a Barbara Erskine. I'm a fan of her work, read all her books, buy themin hardback on the day of release, normally have themin pre-order with Amazon for monthsin advance. A month down the line, I've not finished this book & this morning I've taken the bookmark out & I've given up. I simply don't care what happens. I've no interestin the characters, found them incredibly annoying & can't relate to them at all. I'm gutted. I'm giving it a 3 justin case it's my own tastes that have changed. I will be buying her next one, after all, her last one, I readin 2 days flat, this one, it's been a hard slog & I've not reached the finish line. Sorry!

Yes, it's as good if not better than "The Lady of Hay" although at times I felt like kicking Jess to switch on her mobile!
